How to Transform in Steel Crossfire
Bot, Vehicle, and Jet timing for Valorians and Reavers.
Transformation separates Steel Crossfire from standard Roblox shooters. Every robot in the Valorians versus Reavers war can become a Bot, Vehicle, or Jet—but swapping at the wrong second leaves you vulnerable during animation frames, while smart form changes turn losing trades into objective steals. This guide teaches when to transform, how cooldowns shape fights, and which launch characters lean on each form.
The Three Forms Explained
Bot form is your grounded combat shape. Primary weapons, most abilities, and precise aim work best here. Bots hug cover, hold Domination circles from behind barriers, and win extended duels when players whiff Vehicle hitboxes.
Vehicle form adds speed and ramming presence at the cost of a wider profile. Vehicles cross lanes quickly, crash contested points to disrupt enemy stacks, and peel after securing a cap. They are not invincible—focused Bot fire shreds careless drivers.
Jet form unlocks flight paths and vertical angles. Jets touch Domination zones from above, escape losing Bot trades, and harass backline players who never look up. Fuel or duration limits mean Jets are reposition tools, not permanent hover modes—exact timings may shift with patches, so watch patch notes on Marmot’s Oven channels.

How Transformation Works
Transforming uses a dedicated input mapped in settings. Open Controls and place that button where you can hit it without releasing movement keys—many deaths come from claw-grip awkwardness, not enemy skill.
Typical flow:
- You are in one form with abilities on their own cooldowns.
- You press transform to begin the swap animation.
- You emerge in the selected alternate form with adjusted movement and hitbox.
- A cooldown prevents instant chain transforms until it expires.
Chain-swapping to dodge burst damage only works if your cooldown allows it. Track that timer like an ability—mentally count seconds after each swap.
When to Use Each Form
Bot: Default and Decisive
Stay Bot when:
- You are holding a Domination point behind solid cover.
- You are in a 1v1 aim duel at medium range.
- You need maximum accuracy for ability combos on Pointrunner, Hardline, or Centurion.
Switch away from Bot when the fight demands movement you cannot get on foot.
Vehicle: Commit and Crash
Choose Vehicle when:
- You must cross open ground to reach a rotating capture zone.
- Your team needs a body on point now, not in five seconds on foot.
- You are escaping a Jet dive but Jet cooldown is not ready—Vehicle burst speed saves lives.
Avoid Vehicle when multiple enemies focus you with anti-Vehicle abilities. Beater and Grand Beater players still need to respect focus fire.
Jet: Flank and Fade
Choose Jet when:
- You need height advantage on a stacked Domination point.
- A sniper lane locks you out in Bot form.
- You capped a zone and must leave before enemies collapse—touch point, transform up, reposition.
Do not Jet into four enemies without team follow-up. Jets draw attention; make sure that attention is wasted.
Mode-Specific Transform Rules
Team Deathmatch rewards transform kills and stylish plays but forgives objective mistakes. Use TDM to drill Bot → Vehicle → Bot chase sequences on Revv targets or Jet disengage habits on Bastion.
Domination ties transforms to zone timers. Read Domination Tips alongside this page—Vehicle timing on rotating caps wins seasons, not raw frag count. A Jet that never lands near objectives is dead weight.

Character Notes for Launch Roster
Each robot feels different across forms even when rules are shared:
- Pointrunner — Agile Bot duels; Jet for quick reposition between lanes.
- Revv — Vehicle chase specialist; stay in Vehicle only while closing distance, then Bot for the finish.
- Bastion — Tanky Bot anchor; Vehicle for short objective bursts, not long joyrides.
- Centurion — Balanced all-rounder; good training pick for learning every form.
- Hardline — Defensive Bot; Jet to escape flanks when your lane collapses.
- Beater / Grand Beater — Vehicle-heavy identity; practice ram timing without overextending.
- Super Centurion — Premium-feeling all-form power; expensive Shards investment—see Best Starters before buying if you are new.
Unlock costs vary; fund robots via How to Get Shards and Active Codes before splurging on advanced kits.
Transform Combos That Work
The Cap Touch — Jet into zone airspace, drop to Bot on the point, cap, Vehicle out before enemies arrive. Domination staple.
The Bait Swap — Peek Bot, take chip damage, Vehicle backward through cover to disengage. Enemies overcommit into your team’s crossfire.
The Chase Chain — Vehicle close on a low target, transform Bot for final burst damage. Revv players live here—do not Vehicle past the point you can already shoot.
The High Ground Reset — Lose Bot fight, Jet upward, re-enter Bot on elevation with full health from brief disengage. Requires map knowledge.
Practice each combo in TDM before ranked-style Domination lobbies.
Cooldown Discipline
Players who mash transform lose fights to players who swap once with purpose. Rules of thumb:
- Enter fights in the form you plan to finish in unless a surprise demands otherwise.
- Never transform during reload unless you have cover—animation lock plus empty magazine equals a free kill.
- Communicate Vehicle commits on voice so teammates follow crash plays.
If cooldown feels too long, that is intentional pacing—use Bot footwork while waiting instead of face-tanking.
Season 1 and Transform Cosmetics
Season 1 Battle Pass includes form-adjacent skins and emotes that do not change hitboxes but improve readability for you. Premium track details sit in Season 1 Battle Pass. Cosmetics never replace form fundamentals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Steel Crossfire questions.
How many forms can each Steel Crossfire robot use?
Every launch robot uses three forms: Bot, Vehicle, and Jet. Kits differ in stats and abilities, but the transform triangle is shared across Pointrunner through Super Centurion.
Can I transform while taking damage?
You can initiate transforms under fire, but animation windows leave you exposed. Swap behind cover or when enemies reload unless a Vehicle escape is your only out.
Which form is best for Domination captures?
Jets approach contested zones safely, Bots hold the point with accuracy, and Vehicles confirm caps under pressure. Most successful caps use two forms in sequence, not one.
Do transforms share one cooldown?
Steel Crossfire uses transform cooldown pacing between swaps. Treat it like a major ability—plan one purposeful transform per engagement instead of spamming.
Where should I bind the transform button?
Use a key or touch zone you can reach while moving and aiming. Our Controls guide lists community layouts for PC, mobile, and console.
Does Super Centurion transform differently?
Super Centurion uses the same three forms with stronger kit tuning. Fundamentals—Bot aim, Vehicle commits, Jet disengage—still apply; execution margin is wider.
