Steel Crossfire Character Tier List

Community-informed S/A/B/C rankings — honest about meta shifts and starter vs unlock gaps.

Last updated:

This Steel Crossfire character tier list reflects Season 1 public matches, creator footage, and post-patch chatter — not developer secrets. Marmot’s Oven can rebalance transform damage, Shard prices, or Battle Pass rewards without warning, so treat every tier as a snapshot. When something feels off, compare notes on Latest Updates and retest in a private server before burning premium Shards.

We rank starters and unlocks separately where it matters. A C-tier unlock in rookie hands might still be S-tier for players who mastered transform modes. Cross-check Best Starters if you are under fifty matches played.

Tier key

TierMeaning
SMeta-defining or near-top in multiple modes; worth prioritizing if you can pilot it
AStrong, common in lobbies, may need map awareness or team support
BViable but outclassed in sweaty queues; fine for learning or casual play
CNiche, meme, or heavily skill-gated — avoid as your only unlock

Starter roster tiers

These bots are what most new Valorians and Reavers touch first.

S tier starters

Pointrunner — Fast Bot footwork, clean Vehicle transitions, and Jet escapes that forgive sloppy timing. Point capture routes in Domination favor Pointrunner’s burst. If you only learn one starter, learn this one.

A tier starters

Revv — Aggressive rushdown with higher ceiling than Pointrunner but harsher punishment on whiffed dashes. Excellent when you already read PC controls comfortably.

Bastion — Defensive anchor with strong Bot brawling and objective holding. Lower mobility keeps it from S tier, but teams love a Bastion on escort legs. Full line analysis: Bastion & Centurion.

B tier starters

Hardline — Mid-range specialist that shines when you understand burst windows. Until then, Hardline loses trades to Revv in 1v1 Bot duels. Pair with teammates who call transforms.

Unlock roster tiers

Shard-priced bots and their upgraded forms.

S tier unlocks

Centurion — Upgrade path from Bastion with stronger area denial and mode-flex teamfight presence. Demands good stamina management across Vehicle pushes.

Super Centurion — Late-game crown of the Centurion line. Massive presence in Bot mode, respectable Jet dive. High Shard cost; see Bastion & Centurion before buying.

A tier unlocks

Beater — Bruiser fantasy with satisfying Bot combos. Falls to kiting in open Vehicle maps unless you commit to escort routes.

Grand Beater — Beater’s premium evolution. A tier because animation commitment still gets punished by Pointrunner circles — but terrifying when you land grabs.

B tier unlocks

Hardline (fully upgraded) — Stays situational. Snipes Vehicle convoys on some maps, struggles on tight urban Bot lanes.

Mode-specific adjustments

Add roughly half a tier when a bot’s best mode matches the map rotation:

  • Bot-heavy maps — Bastion, Centurion, Beater lines rise.
  • Vehicle escort segments — Pointrunner and Revv climb; Hardline supports from range.
  • Jet-open finales — Pointrunner retains S status; Beater drops unless your team already won ground phase.

Documented controls for each mode live in Transform Modes.

How meta shifts happen

Steel Crossfire updates often touch:

  1. Transform cooldowns — A Jet escape nerf drops mobile starters half a tier overnight.
  2. Shard earn rates — Indirectly shifts who owns late unlocks; watch Season 1.
  3. Battle Pass chassis — New skins sometimes ship with subtle hitbox or VFX clarity buffs players notice before formal notes land on Latest Updates.

We do not claim datamined numbers. When tiers move, we say why in plain language and link patch context.

Investment order for free-to-play players

  1. Master Pointrunner or Bastion from the starter tier.
  2. Save code Shards from Active Codes toward Centurion, not cosmetic impulse buys.
  3. Add Revv if you lose duel trades and need aggression.
  4. Grind Grand Beater or Super Centurion only after you win Domination rounds consistently — proof you will use the kit.

Honest limitations

Tier lists aggregate average pub skill. Custom private lobbies with voice comms invert rankings. Cheat users distort Kill/death impressions — we do not rank around exploiters. Report suspicious players through Roblox systems, not wiki comments.

Your tier list homework: pick one S-tier starter, one A-tier unlock goal, and play ten matches logging which transform mode won you rounds. That personal data beats any static chart.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Steel Crossfire questions.

Who is S tier in Steel Crossfire right now?

Among starters, Pointrunner leads. Among unlocks, Centurion and Super Centurion sit at the top for all-around Season 1 play, with mode-specific exceptions noted above.

Is Revv better than Pointrunner?

Revv wins aggressive players who mastered dashes; Pointrunner is more forgiving and still S tier for most beginners. Compare both in [Best Starters](/tier-list/best-starters/).

Why is Hardline only B tier?

Hardline rewards aim and burst timing. Until you read enemy transform tells, Revv and Pointrunner out-trade it in Bot mode.

Will this tier list change during Season 1?

Yes. Follow [Season 1](/updates/season-1/) and [Latest Updates](/updates/latest/) — we adjust tiers when the community agrees a bot over- or under-performs after patches.

Should I buy Grand Beater or Super Centurion first?

Super Centurion fits defensive captains who liked Bastion. Grand Beater fits melee lovers who graduate from Beater. Details in [Bastion & Centurion](/tier-list/bastion-centurion/).

Do tiers apply in Jet mode only lobbies?

No single bot dominates every Jet-only scenario. Pointrunner stays strong; heavy Bot chassis drop unless the map forces ground phase first.
